Elle doit avoir presque 20 ans, mais elle est comme neuve et chaque fois que je la porte, j'ai l'impression de parcourir la lande écossaise parmi les bruyères (très Brontë-esque n'est ce pas ?)
A bientôt Elizabeth
Christiane xxxxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7270442039937122804.post-76034340840076984342017-02-06T12:14:20.139+00:002017-02-06T12:14:20.139+00:00I had a similar disaster with fudge just before Ch...I had a similar disaster with fudge just before Christmas and like you I reboiled though mine remained too runny. I couldn't find my usual recipe and had picked one at random from a book and now wonder if something has been lost in translating these old recipes into metric measurements. I have a recipe for Scots Tablet in a trusted recipe book so am tempted now to give that a go.

Regarding your skirts, have you tried hand washing instead of dry cleaning? I use Eucalan (just soak, no rinsing)and successfully wash a tweed jacket and various other things with dry clean only labels. Your blanket is going to look fabulous - looking forward to following its progress. I did make a wool coat a couple of years ago and used a "flat felled seam" so as not to have to line it as I wanted a lightweight sort of a fall thing rather than winter. It leaves a really nice seam and while it is a little thick it lays nicely. I can't wait to see how you do it!Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18209722078916803400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7270442039937122804.post-13086368223375912302017-02-05T20:57:19.764+00:002017-02-05T20:57:19.764+00:00Looking forward to see seeing the blanket. The bright pops of Harris Tweed will look amazing. I am a great fan o tablet but sadly have never tried to make it. I love to eat it of course. My Scottish friend makes a lot of it and it is always good. Mind you, I don't know how many disasters she's had... Well done you for being so persistent. Your blanket is going to be beautiful. I have only used wool to sew a coat. I graded the seams to make them less bulky. Maybe this would work? Have a lovely weekend. xChristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11883091348839145603noreply@blogger.com
