Hope you get a bit of snow just because it's so pretty but by now I shall be quite glad for it to thaw properly - now it's compacted and icy it's a bit of a nightmare getting out of my drive and H makes pointed remarks about "power-sliding" to which i reply it's not "power-sliding, it's "can't-help-it-sliding"! E x PS How was NY? Can't wait to hear all about it! Especially P Soho!
wowsers, they are a brilliant show of photos. What a lovely place to live in! (I assume you haven't just popped out and scoured the countryside for picturesque locations?!) Your soup looks wonderful too - full of health and warmth. Sigh...
Yes, this is where I live and yes, it is picturesque! Not always as picturesque as in the snow though! I always make vast quantities of soup in the winter - internal central heating! This one had to be made with what there was in the house owing to being unable to drive to any shop - an onion, carrots (a little over 1kg), red lentils (about 100g), stock and a bunch of fresh dill that I found in the fridge and appeared to be still in the land of the living! Turned out peasanty (a good thing in my book!) and very delicious! E x
What a beautiful set of photos - snow makes everywhere look amazing. I can just imagine the seed heads as a screen print on a cushion. Do you still have white snow lying on the ground? We still have it on the fields and back roads, but thankfully the main roads are clear.
What a lovely idea! They are very sculptural aren't they? I love Queen Anne's lace, even when like this in winter. Yes we do still have quite a bit of white snow on the ground - the chickens are fed up with it! Most of the roads are fine now, it's just my drive, which currently resembles an ice rink! E x
Your local area looks unbelievably beautiful in the snow, like something from a post card. That soup looks very tasty. I think the best thing about the snow is the bit when you come inside, all red cheeked and cold, and warm up with soup or hot chocolate.
I LOVE that last photo - just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you! E x
DeleteOh my goodness. The snowflake on that last photo is so beautiful x I have never seen a sniwflake photographed so beautifully! X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kate, you are very kind. Still experimenting with the settings on my camera so it's a bit hit and miss at the moment! E x
DeleteBeautiful photo story. We haven't seen any snow yet in my area of North Carolina, but I'm hoping. . . .

Lovely photo's E. You appear to live in the archetypal English Village! Just beautiful :) x
ReplyDeleteYes, it is quite archetypal I suppose! But most places look gorgeous in the snow - I love the effect it has. E x
